New Directors Elected to Outward Bound Canada’s Board

Outward Bound Canada is pleased to welcome five new directors to its governance board. “Each of these five individuals bring significant expertise and experience to Outward Bound Canada’s Board of Directors,” said David Reeve, Chair. “I look forward to seeing the many ways in which they will provide strategic guidance and direction to the Outward Bound Canada team as they help young people discover their true potential and contribute to a better, bolder, more compassionate and resilient society.”

Here are brief bios of the new directors:

Tahir Ayub
Client Relationship Partner, PwC Canada

Tahir Ayub is a Client Relationship Partner for Global and Canadian businesses. He was formerly the Managing Partner for Markets and Industries overseeing the largest accounts across all industry sectors with PwC Canada. As part of the Canadian Executive Leadership team, his key roles were to drive top line growth for the firm, oversee investments in new growth areas, and develop top talent for client servicing partners. Prior to this he was the National Leader for Private Business with PwC Canada. Tahir also leads the firm’s Global go-to market solutions initiatives helping solve some of the most pressing issues clients are currently facing. Tahir has a wealth of knowledge in consulting and deals, IPOs, due diligence, and transaction support. This knowledge, paired with his expertise in the areas of accounting and audit, corporate and personal taxation, acquisition and disposition structuring, and strategic planning prove that Tahir is able to provide clients with multi-disciplined business advice and effectively coordinated specialized resources within the PwC network. Born in Kenya, Tahir immigrated to the UK and is a graduate of the University of Leeds, England (BA Hons Economics). He obtained his CA designation in the UK and moved to Canada in 1998 when he was admitted to partnership with PwC. Tahir currently sits on various charitable boards: Hope Air as a board and audit committee member, a national charity based in Toronto, and the UBC Sauder School of Business Faculty Advisory Board (FAB), an academic business school located in Vancouver.

Paul Nicoletti
Partner and COO of Altas Partners

Paul Nicoletti is Partner and COO of Altas Partners, a Toronto based investment firm with a long-term orientation, focused on delivering outstanding results through the active ownership of high-quality businesses. Prior to joining Altas, Paul was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Celestica Inc., a NYSE/TSX-listed company with approximately $6 billion in revenues and 30,000 employees across North America, Asia, and Eastern Europe. During his career at Celestica, Paul held numerous executive leadership positions. As Chief Financial Officer for six years, Paul also led the company’s strategy and M&A functions, spearheading Celestica’s transition to a higher value-added supplier and a successful acquisition strategy focused on expanding capabilities and penetrating new markets. Paul was educated at the University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies) and the Schulich School of Business (Master of Business Administration with Honours). Paul has completed the Leadership Best Practices program at Harvard University and the G100 Next Generation Leadership Program. Paul has co-led an annual fundraising initiative for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, and served on the Audit, Finance, and Risk Committee of Habitat for Humanity Toronto.

Tabassum Ramhendar
Senior Manager, Youth Strategy & Innovation, RBC Foundation

With over 15 years of experience in finance and program management and execution, Ms. Ramhendar supports the execution of RBC Future Launch – the bank’s commitment to preparing Canada’s youth for the future of work – internally and externally for the RBC Foundation. Prior to working with the RBC Foundation, she held various roles at RBC across the Enterprise Strategic Client Group, Capital Markets, Personal & Commercial Banking, Private Banking, and managing major change initiatives in the Strategy and Transformation team. Ms. Ramhendar holds an MBA in Finance, and a BBA in Business Administration with a Minor in Business Law, both from Stetson University in Florida.

Jill Schofield
Managing Director, ZRG Partners

Jill is a Managing Director for ZRG Partners, a Private Equity backed executive search firm headquartered in New Jersey. Jill resides in the Calgary office and manages Canada as well as a global portfolio. Jill leads the Mining, Energy, and Construction/ Infrastructure Practices. Jill also has a passion for managing executive search projects for organizations focused on sport, recreation, development and non-profit. Jill is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors in Canada and holds her ICD.D designation. Jill is Director of ZRG Canada Ltd, the subsidiary of ZRG Partners and recently retired from the Board of the Pinebrook Golf and Country Club in Calgary where she sat on the Executive Committee as their Corporate Secretary. Jill recently retired as a Technical Delegate for the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS), the governing body for ski racing and snowboarding worldwide, having overseen such events as the Women’s World Cup in Aspen, the NorAms in Vale, Park City, Sunday River, Maine, the Olympic test events at Whistler, and numerous other events in Canada and the U.S.​ Jill is a Regional Ambassador for Women Get on Board, a team that has expertise in the areas of governance, board diversity, marketing, social media, event planning, operations management, and website and network administration. Jill is an avid skier, hiker, golfer, scuba diver, having summitted Kilimanjaro, Machu Pichu, numerous Bens in Scotland, as well as many of the Rocky Mountains in her backyard.

Luxy Thuraisingam
Vice President of Growth Marketing, Cisco Canada

Luxy Thuraisingam is a scientist, storyteller and leader working in the technology space, who sees the marketing landscape from fresh perspectives that have led to meeting emerging customer needs with unique solutions. Today, as Vice President of Growth Marketing for Cisco Canada, she provides leadership and hands-on management to define marketing strategy development and field execution, in collaboration with the Americas team, and the broader Cisco global community.  A critical key to her success, is building high performing teams who bridge data and real-life applications and draw new paths to run effective marketing operations at scale.  She also believes diversity in culture and thinking is the foundation of organizational success and strives to lead by example through inclusion. Outside of the office, Luxy’s passion for catalyzing new thinking in marketing has led her to seats on the Canadian Marketing Association council, various boards, and engagements with future marketers in the college environment. When she’s not working, Luxy enjoys spending time with her husband and twins, travelling near and far. Luxy received her Hons. BSc from the University of Toronto and was awarded her MBA from the University of London in England.
